Setting Specific Content Blocks Required for Project Completion

Authors have control over which content blocks learners must complete to mark a project as Complete. Whether you want learners to complete a specific accordion, flip card, carousel, or audio, you can set mandatory content directly in your editor or via project settings.

How to Set Required Blocks in the Editor Toolbar

The fastest way to mark a content block as required is while you are editing standard or custom content directly on the page.

1. Click on the content block or component you wish to configure.
2. Open the Components / Block Settings popup menu in the toolbar.
3. Toggle the "Mark this as required for page completion" switch to On.

Note on Custom Content Blocks: When you mark a custom content block as required, the entire block (including all elements nested within it) must be completed by the learner.

How to Manage Required Content via the Completion Modal

If you want to view, update, or bulk-manage completion requirements across your entire project in one place:

1. Click on the Project tab in the top navigation bar.
2. Select Completion from the drop-down menu to open the Completion settings modal.
3. Scroll down to the section titled "What content is required for page completion?".
4. Expand the tree view (All Chapters and Pages) to view individual chapters, pages, and content blocks (e.g., Page heading, Flip cards, Carousel, Knowledge check).
5. Check or uncheck the content blocks according to your preferences:
   • Checked: Learners must complete this specific block to complete the page.
   • Unchecked: The block is optional for completion.
6. Click Apply changes at the bottom right to save your settings.

Key Things to Remember

• Scored Questions: Scored questions are automatically marked for page completion and cannot be set as optional.
• Interactive Indicators: If enabled in your Brand Style settings, completion indicators will visually guide learners through completing interactive blocks on the page.
• Setting both % completion and specific content blocks: If setting both % completion and specific content blocks for completion, both conditions must be satisfied in order to complete the project
