Identifying learners in Online Link courses

Where SCORM courses will usually report learner information like their name and email address directly from their platform by default, Online Links must be specifically configured to collect it.

Identifying learners who are taking Online Links is a useful way to understand how they are performing in your courses, especially if Online Link is your primary distribution method.

Before you begin

If this is your first time creating an Online Link release, we recommend reading Publishing your first Online Link course to understand how the basic process works before enabling additional configurations.

This article focuses solely on how to identify learners in Elucidat Analytics for Online Link course. For more information on other configuration options, see Additional configurations.

Releasing an Online Link that can identify learners

Viewing learner results

When your learners start taking the course, their course results and personal information will be reported will be reported to Elucidat Analytics. You will also be able to search for specific users and see their results across different courses, what their results were, and how long they spent in the course.

For more information, see Analysing your learners' results in the data dashboard.

Anonymizing user data

If you’d still like to use domain restriction whilst also preventing learner‘s personal information from being reported to the Elucidat Analytics, you can choose to disable PII capture instead. For more information about these settings, see Configuring a course's learner data capture settings.

Additional configurations

In addition to reporting data to Elucidat Analytics, you can also report xAPI data to a Learning Record Store (LRS). See Configuring your course to report xAPI data for more information.
