Create offers several features that can help you build out the structure of your courses quicker, saving you from having to start from scratch each time. Here are some methods that can give you a head start on your elearning courses.
Contents
Copy, cut, and paste
Components, sections, and pages can be copied to a clipboard and pasted in a different location. You can copy and paste within the same Project to quickly build out page structures or chapters or easily move that same content to a completely different Project.
You can copy, cut, and paste using familiar keyboard shortcuts. To learn how, see Using the Clipboard to copy and paste components and pages.
Duplicate courses that have already been built
Duplicating an existing course can be a great way to start a new Project from one that’s fairly close to what you’d like to create.
When you do this, an exact copy of the original course is made—structure, content, media are all copied over. From there, all you need to do is add or change the content to suit your course. The original course stays exactly as is. Duplicating it won’t change it in any way so you don’t need to worry about any unintended effects.
See Creating a copy of an existing Project for instructions.
Start from a template
Another option to speed up your build is to begin from a template.
There are five templates to choose from, each of which have a different focus, length, and structure.
-
Quick onboarding
A single page Project designed to introduce a new employee to their new job role. -
Product knowledge
A single page Project designed to introduce a new product to your sales team. -
In-depth process
An in-depth, multi-chapter Project designed to introduce a new process to your team. -
Case study
A multi-page Project designed to build soft skills through a case study, with scenario questions. -
Skills-based quiz
A scored assessment designed to test someone’s understanding and application of theory.
Each template has been designed by our Learning Consultancy team and contains a variety of pre-built interactions, media components, and knowledge checks to help teach your learners and test them on what they've learned. Projects created by templates are fully editable just like any other Project so you can use as much or as little of the template content as you like.
See Creating a Project from a template to learn more.
Create a Project by importing a slide-show presentation
If you already have learning materials made with PowerPoint, you can import the file into Elucidat Create and use its content into a new course.
The PowerPoint importer will extract the text and media from the slide-show and use the slide structure to organize across several pages or chapters.
Its a great way to convert existing or older learning materials into a format which can be uploaded to an LMS, or translated for a wider, international audience.
To learn more, see Creating a new Project using a PowerPoint presentation as a base.
