In Elucidat, you publish courses to your learners by creating a release.
One of the types of releases you can make is a SCORM package. SCORM is a widely-accepted standard in elearning that is compatible with most Learning Management Systems (LMS).
When you create a SCORM release, it will become available to download as a SCORM package which can then be uploaded into an LMS.
In this tutorial, you will create a standard SCORM package and export it from the platform so you can upload it to your LMS.
This guide focuses on the quickest route to creating a SCORM package from your Elucidat Project. If you need to adjust tracking, or analytics, or would like more information on the different SCORM modes, see Additional configurations at the end of the article.
Creating a SCORM package
- Open the Project you’d like to release
- Open the Export menu from the top toolbar
- Click Create a Release
- From the drop-down menu, choose the language you’d like to include in the release.
- Switch to the Release for LMS tab to configure your release
- Choose SCORM 1.2 from the Scorm mode drop-down. SCORM 1.2 is the most widely-compatible version of SCORM.
- Click Create Release
- Your SCORM package zip file will begin downloading to your device
Launching the course
You can launch the course by uploading the SCORM package to your LMS. You should upload the SCORM file in its zip format—there is no need to unzip it.
If you have unzipped the file, you’ll need to re-zip it before it can be uploaded to your LMS. Some browsers may also unzip the file as part of the download process.
Downloading the course from Elucidat again
If you need to download the SCORM package again, you can copy it from the release management window.
- In your Project, open the Export menu from the top toolbar
- Click Manage releases
- Find the release in the list
- Click the release’s ellipsis menu
- Click Download Release
Additional configurations
There are additional configurations you can apply to your courses to change the type of data they capture and report.
