You can define a default navigation style in your Brand Style—this will enable or disable a navigation menu at the bottom of each page, allowing the user to move through the course.
In addition to this, you can also add standalone buttons or add a Grid Menu component to provide more navigation options to your course.

Adding a navigation button
You can add navigation buttons to any type of component.
1. Select the component you'd like to add a button to. You'll know a component has been selected if it has a blue border around it.
2. Choose the Menu choices icon () from the Project toolbar
3. Select + Add Button.
A collapsed accordion will appear, representing the new button
4. Open the button accordion
5. Give the button a label in the Button text field. This is the text that appears on the button itself.
6. Choose an option from the Button action drop-down menu:
- Navigate to the previous page—will move the learner back by one page
- Navigate to the start of a chapter (or next chapter)—will move the learner to the first page of the chosen chapter
- Navigate to the next page—will move the learner forward by one page
- Navigate to a page in this Project—will move the learner to the chosen page
- Navigate to the first page of a Project—will move the learner to the first page
i. Depending on the option you selected, you may also need to choose a specific destination for the button to link to. Choose a page or chapter from the Page to link to drop-down menu

Adding a Grid Menu
A Grid Menu is is useful way to link to sections or chapters of your course from a single menu page. It lends itself well to a more non-linear method of navigation.
1. Add a new Grid Menu by either:
a. Adding a new section and choosing the Grid Menu component
b. Adding a new Grid Menu component to an existing section
2. Select the new Grid Menu component
3. Choose the Menu choices icon () from the Project toolbar to configure the links on each menu item.
Each menu item is represented by an accordion under the Menu choices heading.
4. Select an menu item's accordion to expand it and reveal the configuration options
5. Give the item a title by typing in the Navigation item title field. This is the text that will appear on the menu tile.
6. Configure the item's image. Either:
a. Add an image to the item by selecting Choose image. You can then choose to upload a new image, choose an existing image from your asset library, or choose an image from the stock asset library. You may also add alt text to the image by typing in the Alt text field so that it can be read by screen readers
b. Delete the image from the item by selecting Remove
7. From the Button action menu, choose where you'd like the menu button to navigate to:
- Navigate to the previous page—will move the learner back by one page
- Navigate to the start of a chapter (or next chapter)—will move the learner to the first page of the chosen chapter
- Navigate to the next page—will move the learner forward by one page
- Navigate to a page in this Project—will move the learner to the chosen page
- Navigate to the first page of a Project—will move the learner to the first page

8. Save your changes with Save
Testing navigation
After you've configured your buttons, it is a good idea to test them in Preview mode to ensure they are navigating to the correct points. For more information, see Previewing your Project before sharing it with your learners.
